It was early 2020, my first visit to Japan, and I was at the Haneda airport, ready to say Sayonara to the land of the rising sun and return to my residence country. After a long commute to the airport, I was tired & hungry. I started to look for restaurants where I could enjoy my last meal in Japan. I went shop to shop asking for a vegetarian meal and was met with a polite apology. It was quite a disappointing experience that a world-class airport does not have diverse food options.
I couldn’t be more happy when I got the news that a vegan restaurant is now open at the Tokyo Haneda airport. It’s not any restaurant, it is Saido, the highest-rated vegan restaurant in Tokyo. It offers a variety of Japanese traditional food options like Soba, Udon, Tempura, Japanese curry, and so on. There is matcha flavor Monaka ice cream on the menu. Check out the full menu here.
